Motorbikes and jeeps are readily available to rent in Koh Phangan, and are a great way to explore the island.

A simple automatic scooter will cost you around 150 baht per day to rent. For a four-wheel drive jeep you can expect to pay from around 800 baht per day up to around 1200 baht per day for the newest models.

Any damage will be charged for so always inspect the vehicle for any previous damage, maybe even taking a few photos, noting any existing damage before you drive away from the rental shop.

Remember: always wear a helmet when driving a motorbike - accidents are very common here, especially amongst tourists.  Drive slowly and be especially careful on corners as there is often lots of sand on the road.
